Moriah's Birthday...

The Masterpiece!

Jordan is brilliant!

Of course, it was my idea to put it on wrapping paper!!!

Gideon getting in the way!

Birthday girl!

Talking about her night out with mom and dad.

Smiling

The inspiration for the cake

"Bless You on Your Special Day" aka the Special Day Plate has been used for so long!  That is birthday tradition #1

Princess 5 and Princess 4

Gideon being silly, like always! :)

Waiting for the cake

We like to surprise people on their birthdays, so we make the cake while they are out eating with mom and dad. We just started that this year :)

"Cool"

Insert her blowing!

She blew them out in one blow!  I guess she's only 8!!!

She does not know how to smile!!  But I guess, it makes her!

Guessing

This is only Part 1 one of my 3 presents I have for her!

Hershey's!

Opening mom and dad's present

A Lamplighter! Those are our FAVORITE to listen to on the way somewhere.  My FAVORITE one is Sir Malcolm and the Missing Prince.

Presents from mom...plus mine

*excited*

Tradition #2
We write our names
Dad measures us.

"I am taller than Gideon when he was 8!!!!"
It's fun to look back on all the heights.   So far, Moriah has beaten EVERY kid, so mom speculates, that she will be her tallest kid!!  Maybe she'll even pass up my 5'7!!

To a Dear Girl... On Her Birthday...

Happy Birthday Moriah!!

Love you girl!!

Your sister,
Emily

(I am planning a "treasure" hunt for her to find my present for her.  I decided to have more than 8 clues, (It would be a little more fun that way if I had 11 instead!)  so on her 8th clue she will find 8 Reese's candy bars.  She hasn't had it yet, so don't tell her!!!)

Recent Adventures...

Jo-Jo!!
I recently went to Rapid City with some friends to witness the marriage of our friend's sister.  It was very fun.  Josh and Annie have some of the cutest kids ever (That is baby Joanna on the left) and it was a real joy and a blessing to be with them all weekend!  We left Thursday, and Jordan and I got back home Monday of this week.
Nick

The whole family with the dinosaur

He is almost 2 and really cute.  I have several more pictures of him, but didn't want to wait for them all to download.

Lexi

We then went skiing at Terry Peak the next day (Sunday).  It was a little more difficult than Andes Mountain, but it was still fun!

Birthdays.....

Today is my birthday, and it got me thinking...

I am 1/2 way to 30.

I am 1/4 of the way to 60.

I am 1/6 of the way to 90,

Okay, I am getting ahead of myself!

15 years of my life are gone.  I keep thinking, is there something I could have done in those 15 years I could have done differently?  Someone I could have told about Jesus, some little deed that would have put a smile on a little siblings face.  Is there a someone out there who needed a friend when I was too busy in my own "click"?  I kind of get depressed about it.

A different kind of face.  A different word.  A better attitude.....

You have NO idea when God is going to call you home.  It could be this minute, this hour, this day, this week, this month, this year, you have absolutely no idea when you are going to breathe your last breath.  I keep thinking about that too.  So make every minute count.

Well, today is my birthday and Rebekah's too!  She is 10 today and I am 15!  She is the BEST present ever.  I remember our babysitter pulling cupcakes out of the oven as the cordless rang.  She answered it, and what felt like eternity, she finally hung up.  "It's a girl!" she said.  I was ecstatic!  I was 5 year old with a dream of a little sister.  Her name is Rebekah Vernae.  Before she was born  mom went to have a check up.  The doctor asked me if I wanted a boy or a girl.  I said (of course) a girl.  He asked, "Well what if it's a boy?"  My answer is very shameful.  I don't remember saying it, but have heard mom tell the story several times. I said, "Then I'll kill him with a sword!"   Thankfully she was a girl, I wouldn't have killed the baby anyway, I LOVE BABIES!  Then Gideon came along.  The same year. Rebekah is  1/1/02 and Gideon is 12/30/02!  And I loved him.

And now I have Moriah and Lena, and I love them.  In a way, they are all my presents, (sorry Jordan, I guess I was yours)  Little bundle of joys that now make me laugh and cry.

When Jordan was little she prayed every night for three babies, one for dad, one for mom, and one for her.  And then I was born, and then the next year Isaac was born,  and then it was Caleb.  Prayers answered.

Anyway, thank you Dad, Mom, Jordan, Isaac, Caleb, Rebekah, Gideon, Moriah and Lena for making this a special day. I love you all.

Emily

Happy New Year!

Feliz cumpleaƱos Rebekah!  Te amo tanto, tienen una buena! Emily
